Gulf Tile has roots in the cigar industry as the founder, Frank L Garcia, started a small cigar factory with his family called Chinchilla, employing up to 100 people at one time, and even created his own cigar label, Pancho Garcia. Gulf Tile moved to the Morgan Cigar Factory as a way to pay homage to its founder’s roots in the cigar industry. The building itself has a rich history and by setting up this exciting new design center, Gulf Tile is able to merge a curated selection of today’s top building products with the history of the cigar industry which played a significant role in the city’s growth and development. Decades later, the unique architecture and charming building continues to house a business that supports building Tampa however now, it’s one tile at a time!
Gulf Tile has established itself as a highly coveted design center for developers, architects, designers, and builders along the West Coast of Florida. Gulf Tile is now owned by Frank L Garcia's son, Frank John, and wife, Lynette. Following Frank John's retirement, a dedicated group of women, led by CEO Charline Metz, CFO Stefanie Parrott, Sales Manager Julie McKinney, and Operations Manager Stacy Lieberman, supported by Marketing Business Development Manager Kerry Kopasek, spearheaded a rebranding and reorganization initiative that has transformed Gulf Tile into the trusted and distinctive resource it is today. Under the new leadership, Gulf Tile has undergone a remarkable transformation.
